LINKING ARTISTS TO ARTISTS
AND ARTISTS TO PROJECTS

Working freelance can sometimes be an isolating experience with little or no contact with other artists. No one to bounce ideas off, talk things through, or refresh ideas with.

It can also very difficult to gain freelance experience while working for an arts organisation. Once you are used to the security of their structure it can be unnerving to cut loose. When you do take the plunge, self-employment can be daunting with no one to turn to or share thoughts with.

In the East Midlands there appears to be very few effective ways of linking up artists with artists or offers of work.

These are the gaps that this directory is aiming to fill.

If you have just started out on your own and wish there was someone to give advice occasionally or have you ever had to turn work down because the job was too big for you alone?

Perhaps there is an area of work you would like to gain more experience in and just need to work with someone for
a while.
