Creative Writing Workshops
and Reminiscence Sessions

CREATIVE WRITING

Lynn is a performance poet and writer. In 1995 she was sponsored by the City & County of Nottingham to tour Southern Ireland with a group of local writers. During that time she performed her own poetry for Radio Waterford, schools, theatres and clubs.

She has written for three plays, her work has been published in a variety of publications and she has recently published a book of poems. She has featured on several radio programmes and has performed at venues across the U.K. and abroad.

She provides poetry workshops and projects for schools and community groups of all age groups.

REMINISCENCE SESSIONS

A reminiscence session for elderly people is a wonderful way to lead into a variety of other activities. Many of Lynn's reminiscence sessions are designed to work with a craft project. Once mental images have been provoked why not capture them in visual art.

Reminiscence can lead to creating group poems, captions for favourite pictures or even writing a book. The words that tumble out could well provide the foundation ideas for a magical wall hanging design.

Equipped with wide range of memorabilia, Lynn can entice your group onto a voyage of words and crafts. An adventure guaranteed to awaken long forgotten memories.

Your group will talk about the experience for a long time to come.

Talking is one of the most theraputic social activities we have, it is free and available to most of us.

Reminiscene is not just for elderly people, children love to hear the stories grandma tells.

A combined activity linking a residential home or group with a local school, is a great way to generate social responsibility across the generations

Through expression with visual art and creative writing in a safe environment, students will experience the joy of sharing, understanding and celebrating differences.

Lynn believes this commitment to the community is a vital part of her own creativity.

As a disabled community artist, severely deaf since early
childhood with meniers disease, Lynn offers support to all people as they gain confidence in a new and exciting experience.
She is a graduate from Shiftwork, the European award winning project for disabled artists winning the Helios Award in 1996. She has trained to specialise in providing workshops that cater
particularly for the needs of disabled and elderly people.

With assistance, students will be encouraged to explore and push the boundaries of their own ability to the limits.

Lynn has been providing awareness training for staff accross the East Midlands for many years.

School teachers, group leaders, residential carers, children's
hospice and hospital staff, youth leaders and employers have all benifited from awareness sessions.
